Once upon a time in a faraway place named Whidbey Island, there was a white fluffy bunny named Bill. Bunny Bill's mom and dad and their entire family had always been Easter bunnies. Every single one of them, from great Uncle Alan to his teeny younger sister lil Helen Easter Bunny. The white fluffy bunny named Bill by nature was a rebel, a maverick, a cowboy and he didn't want anything to do with being an Easter Bunny.
Meanwhile, in an enchanted fairyland called Kirkland, a jolly jack rabbit named Jenny was thinking about moving away from the family traditions. Jenny's family had always been into pumpkins and candy corn. Sometimes they even called themselves Jack-o-lanterns instead of jack rabbits. Jack rabbit Jenny did not want to do the same things her family had always done like Halloween and trick or treating so she ran away to a beautiful place called Mill Creek.
One wonderful day Bunny Bill hopped innocently into Mill Creek and ran right into Jack rabbit Jenny. It was love at first sight. They made their home in a lovely place with tons of plants to nibble on. They called it My Garden.
Easter came and went and, as time passed, Bunny Bill decided he missed his family and the Easter baskets and Easter hunts and being an Easter bunny. Bunny Bill was really looking forward to Halloween but Jack rabbit Jenny said "NO Halloween!" They both were sad for a couple of minutes and then they both said in unison, "Let's create our own holiday!" They mixed Easter and Halloween and came up with Hayster! They invited all their friends and family to the big Hayster celebration which included Hayster baskets for the Hayster peanut hunt, the Hayster Hare, a little bit of candy, and lots of fun games like rolling a pumpkin down a ski jump! A wonderful time was had by all and a new tradition was born.
