#3 Best Northwest My Garden Plant for 2012 is Heuchera
Any kind of Heuchera, every kind of Heuchera! They are truly one of the best if not the best evergreen perennial out there. They grow in shade, part shade and there are some that will thrive in the sun. They have flowers that hummingbirds love and foliage that changes from season to season. Great in containers alone or in gorgeous dramatic mixed planters or in the landscape as a whole border or alone. If you love Heucheras and want to learn more take a look at 365 Days of Heuchera http://www.mygardennursery.com/Heucheras/

#5 is Hellebore 'Amethysy Gem' for top northwest plant 2012.
This is a stunner. Amethyst Gem Hellebore has amazing color and double flower petals. What more could we ask for. Hellebores can take most exposures but really enjoy shade to party shade. Blooms as early as January and as late as April or May. Evergreen foliage can be cut to the ground in the spring to make it easier to view flowers. Cutting any blackened foliage helps keep plants disease free too. We use lime chips to help with the black spot Hellebores are prone to. Lime chips are available in the early spring at My Garden.
