This is Fire Chief. The little tag from Terra Nova Nurseries says so. It does not look like fire chief which is red, very red. I am not sure if it is because they are small and it has been so chilly, but I have my doubts. We are going to hang onto these until they get bigger and we can confirm who they actually are. Fire Chief is a very red heuchera as you can see. It makes a wine red, medium sized mound and has flowers of pink and white on red stems. So pretty and almost shocking next to a chartreuse heuchera like lime marmalade. It can turn brownish in the winter and maybe that is what has happened to my little samples.
