For anyone who knows me they will not believe my pick for Sunday April 3rd 2011. My favorite heuchera today is 'Sparkling Burgundy'. It is the one in the picture front-left. Look at it! It caught my eye in the nursery as I wizzed by looking for something. The leaves are huge, bright purple and the dark purple veins make it gorgeous. The thing about sparkling burgundy is that it gets powdery mildew before any other heuchera. We have run them a bit drier this year and it looks like that might be the trick to success with it. Just LOOK how happy it is. I guess I should give all my heucheras several tries before I take them off my list. Last year sparkling burgundy was on my list of heucheras that were not worth the trouble. Today, it is!
