Do we really need flowers? I think that Heuchera 'Marmalade' can stand all on its own. Each leaf is a work of natural art and unique perfection. One thing that heucheras don't do for us in the garden is bring fragrance. The beautiful hyacinth is fabulously fragrant and I guess we can keep them for that reason. I just love foliage and its consistency. Flowers need to be dead headed and then the foliage of the bulb dies back and is ugly for a time. Marmalade is a vigorous grower whose 'Amber Waves' heritage gives us the great color but not its weakness. Try the new 'Lime Marmalade' for a hardy chartreuse version.
