Give all your beginning gardener friends and family a purple heuchera (top pic. is 'Black Currant') and they will get a taste of success in the garden. Make sure they plant it in a spot where it will drain well. A container can be a great starting place or make a berm in an existing bed. Place in Part shade to part sun. For the full effect have them plant it in April and then enjoy for months and months until frost and then keep enjoying unless you get a lot of snow and rain and then they will be amazed as the plant might melt into nothing and a month later flush from the ground bigger and better! At My Garden we are getting children interested in gardening with our Fairy Gardens. We are even having a Fairy Festival on April 30th.
