Mocha, Chocolate Ruffles, Chocolate Veil, Brownies, Black Beauty, Black Currant, Black Out, Licorice, Mocha Mint, Obsidian. These are all names of yummy varieties of dark colored heucheras. Some might say that one dark colored heuchera is the same as another but the truth is each one has unique features that make them different enough that you want to collect them all. Obsidian is so dark you could call it black. Planted next to any of the chartreuse heucheras or other part shade loving plants, it is stunning. Black currant has small leaves and a purple cast to it. One of the most asked about at our nursery is Brownies with its large leaves that are a deep dark brown. Mocha Mint is light milk chocolate brown with dark veins. Mocha is a rusty brown that looks great with yellow and orange pansies.
