Day 37 Heuchera 'Citronelle'

 This is a Heuchera 'Citronelle' in a bed at the front of My Garden. You can see the little hipaticas, cyclamen, saxifrage, and pulmonaria coming up next to them. All of these woodland plants are happy here in part shade. The citronelle has some burnt leaves. This bed runs a bit dry and the heuchera shows signs of drought first.

The color of citronelle is fantastic! Leaves are large and deeply lobed. Flowers are white. The label citronelle says sun to part shade. I have had them melt into nothing in full sun. It may be possible to grow them in sun but I think they would need more water than I am willing to give. Citronelle is a sport of caramel, another beauty. As with most heucheras, grow it in containers, woodland gardens, borders or beds. You just can't have too many heucheras.
